TRENDS: Clashing prints and textures:: Peter Som Fall NYFW

This has been one of my favourite collections over the last few days at New York Fall Fashion Week.

Designer Peter Som has hit the trend right on the head with his ready to wear collection- mixing busy patterns, contrasting colours and an array of textures to create a perfectly balanced, chic look.

He's used cocophanies of slamon, turquoise, bright green and yellow- prints include an array of 90's style florals, bold geographic prints, tye dyes and metallic leafing. He also mixed soft marbled silks with pops of bright faux fur, velvet, sequins and soft cottons. Sounds like a lot, huh? But its not- its truly a well balanced and cohesive style, right on the money.

I particularly like the orange trimmed, high heeled velvet green granny boots. And that bright pink furry jacket. Yeeooww!

STYLE TIP: Mix checks with florals, geographic prints with stripes, and add some texture into the mix. Brightly coloured (faux) furs are a great way to add some POP to your look. The rule is: there are no rules. Enjoy!
