VERLAINE Short film

Vaughan Alexander is now the head designer for New York based high end women's wear label Verlaine.

(Another) talented Aussie, Vaughan has been working for the past ten years in Japan creating high fashion costuming for J-Pop mega stars, as well as the costumes for sci-fi blockbusters like Goemon, (for which he was nominated for a Asian Film Award for Best Costuming, presented by Donatella Versace.)

He is also, notoriously, the man responsible for the costumes for Peaches. (Yes, you read that right.)

I'll tell you what- the man can cut a dress. The silhouettes he creates are not only incredibly sophisticated, they perfectly straddle the illusive line between edgy and classic.

Last week we worked together on a noir inspired moving look book/ short film which featured his collection. It was shot by Amanda Elizabeth and will be available to view soon on the Verlaine website.
